Is Side by Side a care service?+
No. We are a human connection platform. Companions are not carers, nurses or therapists, and they do not provide medical or personal care.
Is it a dating app?+
No. Side by Side is about friendship and company — a walk, a coffee, a conversation.
How are companions checked?+
In the real service, companions complete identity verification, background screening and reference checks. In this prototype every badge is demonstration data only.
What does it cost?+
Membership is free. Paid connections have an hourly rate, and community volunteer connections are free. The prices shown here are example figures.
Can I book for my mum or dad?+
Yes. A family account lets you organise connection for someone you care about, with their agreement.
What if I don't get on with someone?+
You never have to book again. You can also block a member and tell us privately what happened.
